Kalimantan Tengah Economy in the Second Quarter of 2019 Grows 7.67%

Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah's economy in the second quarter of 2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp37,182.0 billion and on a constant basis in 2010 reached Rp24,833.8 billion.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in quarter II-2019 against quarter II-2018 (y-on-y) grew 7.67 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Quarrying Business Field which grew 16.11 percent, followed by the Government Administration, Defense and Social Security Business Obligation of 12.35 percent and Transportation and Warehousing by 9.63 percent. From the expenditure side, growth is driven by all components. The highest growth was achieved by the Export Component of 12.28 percent, followed by the Consumption Expenditure Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (LNPRT) which grew by 6.73 percent and Household Consumption Expenses by 4.92 percent.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in the second quarter of 2019 against the first quarter of 2019 (q-to-q) grew 0.38 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security Business Field which grew by 11.04 percent, while the Mining and Quarrying Business Field; Construction; and Financial Services experienced a contraction. While in terms of expenditure the highest growth was achieved by Government Consumption Expenditures which grew 17.34 percent, while the Export Component experienced a contraction.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economic growth in semester II-2019 (c-to-c) grew 6.85 percent. Only the Manufacturing Industry Business Field experienced a contraction. While in terms of expenditure growth is driven by all components. The highest growth was achieved by the Export Component, which grew 14.02 percent.
  • Kalimantan's economic structure spatially in the second quarter of 2019 was still dominated by the Province of Kalimantan Timur at 51.15 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province ranks fourth with a contribution of 11.60 percent.
