Abstract

Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

Kalimantan Tengah's Joint NTP fell 1.08 percent, from 131.07 (December 2021) to 129.66 (January 2022). This decline was driven by the decline in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely the people's plantation sub-sector (1.72 percent), the fisheries sub-sector (1.69 percent) and the food crops sub-sector (0.12 percent). Meanwhile, two other sub-sectors experienced an increase, namely the horticulture sub-sector (1.05 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (0.86 percent).

In January 2022, there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Kalimantan Tengah by 1.35 percent, which was mainly due to an increase in the food, beverage and tobacco groups.

The Kalimantan Tengah Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in January 2022 was 130.75, down 0.54 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
