Abstract

Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's combined NTP in April 2023 rose by 1.21 percent compared to March 2023, namely from 121.83 to 123.30. This increase was caused by an increase in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely food crops (1.80 percent), smallholder plantation crops (1.45 percent), and fisheries (0.85 percent). Meanwhile, horticulture and animal husbandry experienced a decline in exchange rates, respectively by 0.79 percent and 0.08 percent.
  • In April 2023 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Kalimantan Tengah by 0.12 percent which was mainly due to an increase in the price index for the clothing and footwear group (1.09 percent) as well as the price index for the housing, water, electricity and fuel group. household (0.31 percent).
  • Similar to the NTP, the Kalimantan Tengah Agriculture Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in April 2023 also increased by 1.22 percent, from 122.13 (March 2023) to 123.62 (April 2023).
