In March 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Kalimantan Tengah Province will be 2.72 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.96. The highest inflation occurred in Kapuas Regency at 3.35 percent with a CPI of 106.83 and the lowest occurred in Sampit at 2.43 percent with a CPI of 105.28.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group increased by 5.65 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group 0.19 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group 0.70 percent; health group 1.16 percent; transportation group 0.83 percent; recreation, sports and culture group 2.51 percent; education group 2.40 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group 2.27 percent; and the personal care and other services group 1.19 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: the clothing and footwear group by 0.13 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.04 percent.
